- What can’t be done with the Rabby Wallet integration?
There are some limitations and differences with the NGRAVE LIQUID app.
Synchronize multiple hardware wallets
You can synchronize multiple accounts from ZERO with Rabby next to your regular Rabby wallet, but only from one hardware wallet. If you have your main ZERO wallet synced with Rabby and you want to synchronize a passphrase wallet or another ZERO additionally, you need to unsync the main wallet first.
Easily verify transaction details
The NGRAVE LIQUID app displays your unsigned transaction QR code and the transaction details. This simplifies the verification of transaction details on ZERO before signing it.
Rabby doesn’t show the transaction details, only the QR code. This makes it more difficult to verify the transaction details. You need to make a note or remember the transaction details to verify them on your ZERO before signing. The most important thing you want to confirm is that the receiver's address hasn’t been modified.
Only EVM-based chains
Rabby Wallet supports over 10,000 cryptocurrencies and NFTs on Ethereum and over 141 EVM (= Ethereum Virtual Machine) chains and testnets. EVM (= Ethereum Virtual Machine) chains are based on Ethereum and use the same address format, starting with ‘0x’. Other chains or networks are not supported in Rabby Wallet.
- Should I import my secret recovery phrase from Rabby Wallet in ZERO?
No. You should not import any seed phrases at all, but rather synchronize your ZERO with Rabby Wallet. While it is possible to import your Rabby Wallet seed phrase in ZERO or to import your ZERO seed phrase into Rabby Wallet, this will provide no extra security.
Rabby Wallet is a so-called ‘hot’ wallet: the private keys for a wallet are generated and stored in a browser or app that is connected to the internet. On the ZERO, the private key is generated by a unique procedure and stored 100% offline using hardware made for this purpose.
To use the Rabby integration you should sync your ZERO with Rabby. You don’t even need to have a wallet made in Rabby. Then your ZERO accounts will be available in Rabby.
- Can I transact tokens that are not supported on the ZERO with Rabby Wallet?
You can store and transact coins and chains that are not natively supported on ZERO.
ZERO will be able to show the most common chain and coin details.
However, in some cases the transaction can't be decoded or part of the decoded transaction can't be interpreted. Make sure you understand the risks of blind signing and take appropriate measures to protect your funds (see How to stay safe on web3?).
- How do I disconnect my ZERO from Rabby Wallet?
You can go through the same steps you followed to sync your ZERO:
In the Rabby browser extension, click on the ‘Add an address’ icon in the top right and then “Connect Hardware Wallets” → “NGRAVE ZERO”. If prompted, allow Rabby access to your webcam.
Because you already have a hardware wallet synced, you will get a list of your ETH accounts instead of the camera.
To disconnect your ZERO from Rabby, deselect all the accounts that are currently linked to Rabby Wallet.
